OMEGA ALPHA - Essential Fatty Acids
Essential fatty acids are indicated for a number of conditions ranging from immune disorders, neural imbalances, joint problems, cancer, inflammation, kidney function, AIDS and cardiovascular disease. They function as components of nerve cells, cell membranes and hormone-like substances called prostaglandins.
Flax oil is an excellent and primary source of alpha-linoleic acid, an Omega 3 oil, which is a precursor to eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) that leads to prostaglandin 3 series formation. Prostaglandins of the 3 series are the primary end products of Omega 3 oil supplementation responsible for the majority of the desirable effects mentioned above. Deep sea fish oils are high in EPA and further contribute to the benefits of the Omega 3 oil.
Borage seed oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an Omega 6 fatty acid, which is generally converted to 1 series prostaglandins. Prostaglandins of the 1 series, like the 3 series also responsible for the beneficial effects mentioned. Borage seed oil also contains oleic acid, an Omega 9 fatty acid that promotes the anti-inflammatory pathways for GLA.
These oils are manufactured according to pharmaceutical GMP standards and analyzed for pesticide and herbicide residues and heavy metals. The flax and borage seed oils are non-GMO, hexane free and expeller cold pressed.
